This page explains how credit information is handled at CarCoop.
It’s only relevant if you apply for a vehicle or if credit reporting becomes necessary during your agreement.
When This Policy Applies
This policy applies when:
- you apply for a CarCoop vehicle, or
- your account involves missed payments, arrears, or defaults.
If credit information isn’t involved, this policy won’t apply to you.
What Credit Information Means
Credit information can include:
- identity details used to confirm who you are,
- payment history under your agreement,
- information about overdue accounts or defaults,
- insolvency information, if applicable.
This is different from general personal information covered in our Privacy Policy.
Why We Use Credit Information
We may use credit information to:
- assess applications,
- manage your agreement,
- follow legal and regulatory requirements,
- recover overdue payments if necessary.
We only use credit information where it’s relevant and allowed by law.
Credit Reporting Bodies
If payments fall behind or a default occurs, we may report information to credit reporting bodies such as:
- Equifax
- Experian
- Dun & Bradstreet
These organisations maintain credit files that lenders may access.
Who Credit Information May Be Shared With
Credit information may be shared with:
- credit reporting bodies,
- service providers involved in account management,
- regulators or authorities where required by law.
We don’t share credit information unless there’s a valid reason to do so.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- request access to your credit information,
- ask for corrections if something is wrong,
- make a complaint if you believe your credit information has been handled incorrectly.
We’ll review and respond to all requests in line with legal requirements.
